Foodservice Consultants Society International presents
2000 Management Advisory Services Award
WASHINGTON (October 20, 2000) — Foodservice Consultants Society International
(FCSI) presented Brian Sill, Deterministics, with the 2000 Award for Excellence in Management
Advisory Services during the FCSI conference in Washington, D.C. An international competition
with foodservice consultants from around the world, contestants were judged on methodology,
innovation, presentation and success in meeting the client's objectives.
Deterministics, a Seattle-based company specializing in management systems and foodservice
industrial design, received top honors for its work with Ponderosa Steakhouses. A division of
Metromedia Family Steakhouses of Plano Texas, Ponderosa Steakhouse hired Brian Sill and his team
to create a new prototype for its brand to reposition the chain for future growth.
Deterministics completed a Capacity Management Assessment to create a new facility design
along with operating standards and management systems necessary to accomplish the repositioning.
The results were dramatic improvements in guest service, a reduction in labor and facility
investment costs, and increases in sales and profits.
